Trademark Office simplifies trademark application materials and formalities

(1) The applicant no longer needs to file a photocopy of his/her ID card when attending to application matters apart from transferring and conveyancing at trademark registration hall or local reception counter.

(2) When going through formalities for changing applicant/registrant of trademark, the applicant may file a copy of the document for approving change by the registration authority or a printed copy of related document downloaded from the official website of the registration authority as the certification document for change. When one applicant simultaneously files more than one application for changing applicant/registrant of trademark with the same content, it is only necessary to file the certification document in one application; the trademark application number/registration number of the application for change comprising the certification document is to be recited on prominent positions of each of the other applications.

(3) When one applicant simultaneously files more than one application for correction, it is only necessary to file the certification document in one application; the trademark application number/registration number of the application for correction comprising the certification document is to be recited on prominent positions of each of the other applications.

(4) The copy of the trademark registration certificate is no longer required for renewal of registered trademark.

(5) The Chinese translation of certification documents and evidence materials filed for trademark registration no longer requires signature confirmation from translation agency or IP agency.
